Wellness Through the Wall
In partnership with the Franklin County Jail, and the Re-Entry Center, PMP provides people experiencing incarceration with knowledge and tools for nervous system regulation, earth connection, and self-care. Our programs include:
Monthly Jail Education Series– PMP teaches monthly classes to residents of the Franklin County jail, focusing on relevant health/mental health information, and experiential learning about local healing plants and foods.
Monthly Women’s Clinics at the Re-entry Center– Women returning to their communities after incarceration often face unique and complex challenges. Many are working to rebuild relationships with children and family members, secure stable housing and employment, access healthcare, and heal from experiences of trauma, violence, addiction, and chronic stress. PMP’s volunteer practitioners provide acupuncture, massage, and nervous system-supportive teas to women transitioning from jail as they step into life on the outside.
