SUMMARY:Nature Journaling in the Medicine Garden
DESCRIPTION:Come join us at the Garden of Peoples’ Medicine Project for a morning of connective nature journaling on June 15th from 10am to 12pm! \nNature journaling is a means of connecting to where you are through art\, writing\, and observation. Nature journaling can include elements of drawing\, writing\, painting\, collaging\, and whatever else you may please! This event will include an overview of what nature journaling is/can be\, observational skills\, and the impact of what we choose to give our attention to. \nFor this event we will be spending part of the time together in a group\, chatting and or sharing our observations\, with two intervals where we will split off for individual journaling time around the garden. \nPeople all ages and any skill level are welcome to join. You do not need to have any experience with drawing or nature observation to take part in nature journaling. If the group wants\, I can also give drawing pointers— but this time is mostly to have fun and see what you might notice while journaling! \nYou are welcome and encouraged to bring your own supplies. If you would like supplies provided for an extra fee\, please check that section on the registration form. \nJournaling supplies you might bring: \nSketchbook or unlined paper (mixed media or watercolor paper recommended if using watercolors)\nPencil and or pen\nColored pencils\nWatercolors\nanything else you like to make with! ex: crayons\, markers\, watercolor pencils\, modeling clay\nCOMFORT\nThis course takes place outside! Please plan accordingly by bringing whatever you need to be comfortable for the 2hr duration of the class. As a group we will be sitting in shaded grass\, but you may end up in a sunny spot\, on pavement/gravel/wood chips\, etc. during the times we are journaling individually. \nExamples: \nWater and snacks\nSun protection\nFolding chair or blanket to sit on\nACCESSIBILITY AND COVID-19\nThis event takes place outside where there may be uneven terrain. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns about accessibility\, or would like to share specific accessibility needs that I could better support you with. \nBecause this event take place outside\, masks are optional. Please be considerate of your community\, and do not attend when/ if ever you are experiencing any symptoms or feeling unwell. \nCONTACT\nYou can reach me via email at thefantasiesofyouth@gmail.com or on instagram at @thefantasiesofyouth with questions about the course or any other comments/inquiries.
